Q1.  How old do I have to be to rent a vehicle?

At the commencement of the rental period, all renter’s must be aged 21 and over for standard vehicles, whilst for trucks and buses the renter must be 25 and over. Please note than an age surcharge is applicable to renters aged between 21 and 24.

Q2.   What Driver’s License do I need to rent a vehicle?

Myaree Car Hire recognises all current Australian driver’s licenses and current overseas licenses, International driver’s licenses to be accompanied by country of origin – original driver’s license and valid passport. The required driver’s license must be in English with photo and produced at the commencement of the rental. Should the license be in another language or have no photo, an International Driving Permit must be accompanied with it. Any vehicle that holds more than 12 people requires an LR License.

Q3.   Is there an additional charge if there will be more than one driver?

No, there are no additional driver charges. All driver’s must be present at the rental counter at the time of collection. We’ll then apply your details to the rental.

Q4.  Can I drive the car outside the state of Western Australia?

All our vehicles are not to leave Western Australia, Any vehicles going past a 900klm radius from Perth, will need to arrange before booking vehicle, the remote surcharge fee is $77.00.

Q5.  Can I remove seats from Minivan/People-mover/Bus?

Seats cannot be removed from a Minivan/People-mover/Bus or any other vehicle.

Q6.  Can I use someone else’s Credit card?

No, the renter must have a drivers license and credit card in their own name.

Q7.  What should I do if I have an accident or the vehicle breaks down?

First contact the police to complete an accident report and immediately contact the Office at 2/12 Hayden Court, Myaree or phone (08) 9330 8848 or 0417 919 336. For breakdown service phone (08) 9330 8848 or 0417 919 336. If RAC sticker on windscreen ring the RAC on 1300 558 456.

Q8.  What credit cards can I use?

Most major credit cards are accepted. (Amex and Diners will incur a 5% Surcharge)

Q9.  Can I use a Master or Visa Debit card?

If using a Debit card , you must pay for the hire plus $500.00 Deposit.

Q10. Can I use an EFTPOS card?

No, unfortunately we cannot accept EFTPOS cards.

Q11. Why do rental companies ask for a Credit card?

Rental companies need to know that their renter’s are credit worthy to minimise vehicle damage and losses. Credit cards and valid driver’s licenses usually provide the only information we have about our renter’s.

Q12. Why do I have to return my car at a set time?

Our rental rates are based on a 24 hour clock, if vehicles go over time they will be charged out (5 hours will automatically go into another days hire, eg 3 hours late will be 3/5th of the daily rate). Trucks – Early morning pickup Mon-Fri 8am, Sat 7am & Sun 7.30am must be returned by next morning Mon-Fri 7.30am, Sat 6.30am & Sun 7am.

Q13. What refueling options do I have?

We give the vehicle to you full of fuel, you return the vehicle full with a receipt (except when advised differently by our staff). Trucks shall be refueled at our depot on return, normal pump prices are charged (ie. no additional fee).

Q14. What is a Security Bond?

A Security Bond is a pre-authorisation to your credit card that is used as a form of protection by Myaree Car Hire whilst you are renting a vehicle.

Q15. How does a Security Bond work?

Q16. What is Vehicle Registration Recover Fee?

The Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee (VRRF) is a surcharge to recover the cost of registering a rental vehicle. The VRRF applies to ALL vehicles.

Q17. Are Excess Reduction coverage and rates always the same?

Excess Reduction coverage and rates will vary depending on the type of the vehicle rented and the age of the driver’s renting.

Q17. What if I decline Excess Reduction?

If you choose not to purchase Excess Reduction then you will be liable for the full cost of the excess that is applicable on your rental.

Q17. Can I rent moving accessories?

Q20. I’m traveling with a child. Do I bring my own child safety seat?

No need. We have Child safety seats/Child restraints and Booster seats available for hire, for more info check our Services page.

Q21. Can I bring my pets in a Myaree Car Hire vehicle?

No.

Q22. Can I pick up from the Airport?

Vehicles can be picked up from Skypark Valet Parking, this service must be pre-arranged 48 hours notice with Myaree Car Hire staff. Airport pickups and drop offs incur a $45 charge each way. This service is only for customer’s flying in or out of Perth Domestic or International Terminals. For more information see our Airport Services and Procedures.
